377 Inventing Christmas from scratch

377 Inventing Christmas from scratch

Far from home and Mama,
with untimely spring gusts
messing up the pines’ hairy tops,
and snow but a remote dreamcloud,
we invent Christmas from scratch

Crooning on with Frank and Dean
about ye faithful and red noses,
then helping Eddy gobble down the stuffing
and Patsy getting tipsy on Bolly-Stolly
until the sun sneaks away

At last, we stuff ourselves
with Foie Gras, salmon and champagne
while the central heating crackles,
the dog whimpers in her sleep
and candles flicker sympathetically

Bright lights twinkle on the tree
as we, the red nosed faithful,
open presents – then we play away
all that remains of Christmas Eve

  2. Happy New Year to you too darling man! Love the new picture. You look handsome as ever!

Love your new years resolutions! My new years resolutions are: to say "yes" to the things that scare me. To not pass critical judgment on things I know nothing about. Not to assume. To breathe in and out when I get anxious...

Ah...chocolate man, certainly you know what that means....dipping over to the dark side...:)

    Happy new year!

  3. Thanks Catherine! Your words are always very nice, warm-hearted and generous!

As for you, my sweetest Maui-mouse, ooooooh! Dipped over to the dark side, now, did ya? Of course I perfectly understood what you were hinting at. Still, only a photo's a proof, dontcha see? Btw, never ever treated myself to a chocolate dip. Should this be the regret of my life or what?

;-) keep it goin', gal, yer a real hoot!
